The real name of Burzum is Varg Vikernes, founder and sole member of the Norwegian black metal band Burzum. During 1992 and 1993, Burzum recorded four albums, but in August of the same year Vikernes was convicted and imprisoned for the murder of Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth and the arson of several churches. After serving his sentence in 2009, Varg Vikernes has retired to his farm with his partner and children, in the town of Bø in Telemark county (Norway).
